Abstract

The escalating demands of industry and technology underscore the vital role of Higher Education in cultivating highly skilled and independent human resources with robust intellectual capabilities. The Chemical Engineering program at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" East Java recognizes this imperative and strives to equip its students for the rigors of the professional landscape, notably through Field Work Practice (PKL). This PKL served as a crucial bridge between academic theory and industrial application, enabling the author to apply and refine both soft and hard skills gained during coursework within a corporate environment. To truly elevate the competency of its Chemical Engineering graduates, UPN "Veteran" East Java emphasizes the importance of direct exposure to the industrial sphere, moving beyond purely scientific and technological instruction. Gaining firsthand insight into real-world industrial challenges is invaluable, providing practical context that reinforces theoretical knowledge acquired in lectures. This comprehensive approach ensures graduates are well-prepared to be competitive human resources in an increasingly globalized world. For this reason, the author undertook their Field Work Practice at PT Ajinomoto Indonesia, Mojokerto Factory. This experience aimed to deepen understanding of how Chemical Engineering principles are applied in the food industry, while simultaneously providing practical exposure to a professional work setting. A key objective was also to gain hands-on experience in addressing operational issues within the factory.
