Abstract
Rice farming is one of the agricultural activities often faced with various challenges, such as price fluctuations, rising production costs, and limited land availability due to land-use conversion. These conditions lead to unstable income from rice farming, prompting many farmers to seek additional income from non-agricultural sectors to meet household needs. This study aims to analyze income from rice farming, total household income, the contribution of rice farming to household income, and the factors affecting household income of farmers. The research was conducted in Cangkringsari Village, Sukodono Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency, using a quantitative approach. A total of 65 farmers were selected using proportionate stratified random sampling based on three categories of land size. The results show that the contribution of rice farming to total household income is relatively high for land size <0.50 ha (63.54%), 0.50–0.86 ha (80.04%), and >0.86 ha (81.28%). Partially, land size and education level have a significant effect on household income, while production volume, farmer age, and number of dependents do not show significant effects.
