Abstract

Good financial management is an important skill for students, especially for students who are children of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), who are financially dependent on remittances from their parents. Remittances are the main source of funding for students who are children of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), considering that most of them use remittances to meet their living and educational needs. This study aims to analyze the effect of financial literacy, remittances, and the implementation of financial education in families on the financial management of PMI students. This type of research is quantitative research. The population used in this study were recipients of the Higher Education Affirmation Scholarship (Adik) who had the status of children of Indonesian migrant workers, totaling 410. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and obtained 80 respondents based on sample criteria. The data analysis technique used Partial Least Square (PLS) 4.0 software. The results of this study indicate that Financial Literacy, Remittances, and Financial Education in Families have a positive effect on the financial management of students who are children of Indonesian migrant workers. This shows that students who are children of Indonesian migrant workers who have financial literacy skills and receive remittances and financial education in their families tend to be able to manage their finances.
