Abstract

Online games have become one of the most popular forms of entertainment, not only among men but also women, in the current era of globalization. According to the Bryter Female Gamer Study, women’s interest in online games has been steadily increasing every year from 2019 to 2022. One of the popular games enjoyed by various groups is Mobile Legends. Indonesia is among the countries with the highest number of active Mobile Legends players in Southeast Asia, including female players who actively participate in tournaments such as the MLBB Women’s Invitational and the Unipin Ladies Development Series. This highlights that female players are a potential target for the gaming industry. This study aims to evaluate the experiences of female gamers in playing Mobile Legends using the Playful Consumption Experience Model. The study involves variables such as Escapism, Fantasy, Role Projection, Enjoyment, Emotional Involvement, Arousal, Sensory Experience, Behavioral Intention, and Usage Behavior. Data were collected from 400 respondents and analyzed using the SEM-PLS method. The results show that Enjoyment, Emotional Involvement, Arousal, and Sensory Experience have a significant positive effect on Behavioral Intention. In contrast, Escapism, Fantasy, and Role Projection do not significantly influence Behavioral Intention. Furthermore, a significant positive relationship was found between Behavioral Intention and Usage Behavior. These findings provide insights into gaming experiences that enhance female player retention in Mobile Legends.
