Abstract
Internal factors of child psychology (having known the food they like) and external parenting (forcing children to eat followed by threats, feeding by providing entertainment through gadgets, not training children to learn to eat themselves) are factors that trigger the emergence of picky etaer behavior problems in preschool children aged 3 to 6 years. This needs to be taken seriously because it can make children exposed to stunting or malnutrition and also lack of fine motor skills. The research method used qualitative methods with primary data collection techniques (FGDs, interviews, questionnaires, and observations) and secondary data (literature studies of journals and books). The data obtained was analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis and TOWS Matricks and resulted in the keyword “Active and Independent Behavior”. So, as an effort to prevent picky eater behavior and strengthen parental bonding, this design focuses on designing an educational board game for bento creation using the Montessori method based on storytelling with the title “Bneto Creation Board Game with Healthy Friends”. The storytelling contains Healthy Friends characters consisting of Potato the Cook, Watermelon the Fruit Farmer, Carrot the Vegetable Farmer, and Chicken the Shopping Hobbyist whose role is to repel the Sweet Monster the Annoying Neighbor who wants to sneak into bento dishes and make them unhealthy. The story supports the game on the board game which consists of 2 levels, namely, level 1 (ages 3-4 years) grouping cooking ingredient tokens according to their groups and level 2 (ages 5-6 years) there are 2 phases, cooking bento with chopsticks (honing fine motor skills) and creating bento. In the games mentioned, it requires interaction between parents and children so that children can more easily recognize nutritious food groups so that they want to try food variations and increase parent bonding. In addition, children are also expected to more easily understand the concept that healthy food is much better than unhealthy sweets.
