Abstract
Agro-industry plays an important role in creating added value through the processing of agricultural products, one of which is sugarcane processed into sugar. Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is a strategic commodity in the sugar industry, which also produces by-products such as bagasse and molasses. This study aims to analyze the management of sugar by-products and determine the added value obtained at Candi Baru Sugar Factory in Sidoarjo. The results showed that the added value for bagasse was 0.98%, classified as low, while the added value for molasses reached 75%, classified as high. Candi Baru Sugar Factory has also implemented an automation system using PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) for efficient process control. The organization of by-products, including bagasse and molasses, is carried out by involving third parties to process and manage environmental impacts appropriately.
