Abstract
This research discusses how community participation in the preservation of tourism development in the Gunung Anyar Mangrove Botanical Garden in Surabaya, which became the first Mangrove Botanical Garden in Indonesia, However in 2023 the Gunung Anyar Surabaya Mangrove Botanical Garden was taken over by the Surabaya City Government under the Food Security and Agriculture Office and handed over to the Mangrove Botanical Garden Gunung Anyar Surabaya so that all decision making was not directly through the community The purpose of this research is to find out (1) how community participation in the preservation and development of the Gunung Anyar Mangrove Botanical Garden tourist attraction, and (2) want to know the supporting factors and and inhibiting factors of community participation in mangroves. The type of research used in this study is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The results showed that community participation can help the mangrove in preserving and developing tourism objects. Keywords : Mangroves, Community Participation, Preservation, Development
