Abstract
Tofu industrial wastewater is usually not optimally treated. It contains high levels of pollutants. Based on the analysis of tofu liquid waste in Candi, Sidoarjo has COD, BOD, and TSS levels of 7704, 4726, and 94 mg/L, respectively. Waste with high pollutants cannot be released directly into the environment and, therefore, requires treatment. Waste treatment methods that can reduce the pollutant content are aeration and ozonation. Tofu wastewater treatment is done by diluting the waste 10 times, then aeration for 6 hours with a flow rate of 6 L/min. The results of the aeration process will be adjusted pH by adding a solution of NaOH 1 M with pH variations of 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, after which the ozonation process with an ozone flow rate of 400 mg/hour and contact time for 60; 80; 100; 120; 140 minutes. The results of testing the levels of BOD, COD, and TSS in tofu liquid waste that has been carried out the aeration and ozonation process showed the highest reduction in levels at pH = 10 with a contact time of 140 minutes, which resulted in COD, BOD, and TSS levels of 662, 241, and 36mg/L, respectively.
