Abstract
Avocado is a type of horticultural plant that is in great demand and has high economic value. Avocado plant propagation is carried out to obtain a sufficient number of high-quality seeds to meet the needs of seed users. One of the avocado plant propagation methods is by cuttings. The success of stem cuttings to take root and grow well is influenced by the length of the cuttings used. To increase the success of plant cutting growth, growth hormones such as the synthetic hormone Indole Butyric Acid (IBA) are needed which can stimulate root and crown growth and increase the number and quality of roots. This study was conducted to determine the effect of the combination of stem cutting length and IBA concentration on the growth of avocado plant cuttings (Persea americana Mill). The experimental design used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors, namely the first factor of cutting length with 3 levels, and the second factor of IBA concentration with 5 levels and repeated 3 times so that 45 experimental units were obtained with 3 sample plants per experimental unit so that a total of 135 polybags were obtained. The results showed that there was no interaction between the combination of cutting length treatments and the administration of IBA concentration. The single treatment of 20 cm cutting length showed the highest average in all parameters. The single treatment of IBA concentration of 75 ppm and 100 ppm gave higher average results in each parameter. Keywords: Avocado Plant, cuttings, cutting length, IBA (Indole Butyric Acid) concentration
