Abstract

Teak (Tectona grandis Linn.) is a plant that produces raw materials for the woodworking industry because of the strength and beauty of its fiber. The availability of teak wood tends to decrease from year to year, this is because there is no intensive pest attack control for teak plants. Efforts to reduce and anticipate pest attacks can be done by using ants as biological agents or pest predators. This research aims to identify types of predator ants in teak plantations in Campurdarat Village. Data collection was carried out using the plot sampling method. Sampling used the Hand Collecting (HC) and Bait Trap (BT) methods. The results of the research found that five genera of predatory ants had been identified, including Acropyga, Anoplolepis, Polyrhachis, Odontomachus, Odontoponera. Ant diversity obtained a result of 0.8, which could be said to have low diversity and ant evenness obtained a result of 0.6 so it can be said to have moderate evenness. The abundance of ants is known to show that the most dominant ant is Acropyga and Anoplolepis; the subdominant ants are Odontoponera; the non-dominant ants are Odontomachus and Polyrhachis.
