Abstract
Increasing rice production in Mindugading Village is hampered by the fact that rice production fluctuates every years, so efforts are needed to increase productivity through efficiency. This study was aims to 1) analyzed the factors that influence rice production and 2) analyzed the level of technical efficiency in rice farming businesses that used combined harvester machines. The study was conducted in Mindugading Village, Tarik District, Sidoarjo Regency, from February to March 2024. The sampling technique in this study used simple random sampling with a sample size of 53 farmers. The variables used in this study were land area, seeds, labor, fertilizers, pesticides, and rental costs. The analysis method used in this study uses a parametric approach through the Stochastic Frontier Analysis model. The first stage uses the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method, and the second uses the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method. This analysis was carried out with the help of Microsoft Excel and Frontier Stochastic 4.1 software. The study results showed that 1) rice production was influenced by land area, fertilizer, seeds, and combined harvester rental costs, and 2) the technical efficiency value was 0.87 or on a moderate scale. So farmers can still increase production results by adding several production factors until they reach the optimum point that can be used.
