Abstract

Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) plant from fly ash as filler material by dry process method with capacity of 245,000 tons/year. This plant will be established in Tuban Karangdowo Industrial Estate, Socorejo, District. Jenu, Tuban Regency, East Java. The raw materials used to produce cement are limestone, clay, silica sand, iron sand, fly ash, and gypsum obtained through cooperation from several mining companies and using fly ash waste from companies that have their own power plants such as PT Petrokimia Gresik. The dry process in the manufacture of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) has 4 stages, namely the raw material preparation stage, the initial grinding stage, the combustion stage, and the final grinding stage. The material preparation stage is carried out by receiving raw materials from mining suppliers who have collaborated to be stored in the storage warehouse, the raw materials that have been received will be reduced in size and material screening before being accommodated in the storage silo. Followed by the initial grinding stage of the material in the form of limestone, clay, silica sand, and iron sand in the vertical roller mill which will then be fed to the blending silo as a material homogenization process to be forwarded to the pre-heater. The material that comes out of the pre-heater will go to the rotary kiln for the combustion stage with an entry temperature of around 800 ℃ and a rotary kiln exit temperature of around 1500 ℃. In the rotary kiln, cement is formed through the calcination reaction of C3S, C2S, C3Al, and C4AF, after the clinker is formed, it is continued with the cooling process of the clinker with a rotary cooler to a temperature of 150 ℃ before heading to the clinker silo. Clinker is fed to the final grinding stage by adding additives and fillers in the form of gypsum and fly ash which are passed through the same conveyor belt and fed to the ball mill. Final grinding is carried out until the product is 200 mesh in size in accordance with cement standards.
