Abstract
Factory layout is the main foundation in the industrial world. A well-planned factory layout will help determine the efficiency and effectiveness of production activities and in some cases will also maintain the survival or success of a company. Based on observations and interviews that have been conducted, information is obtained that the layout arrangement on the production floor of PT INASTEK is not fully in accordance with the sequence of production processes. Thus resulting in backtracking movement at several work stations. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to redesign the layout of processed plastic waste production at PT INASTEK by considering the distance between departments. The method used in this research is Computerized Relationship Layout Planning (CORELAP). The CORELAP method was chosen to improve the layout of the facility by producing a minimum material transfer distance, allowing maximum use of the area, and making the production flow more organized. Based on data processing using the CORELAP method, it is known that the total distance traveled between work stations in the initial layout is 39.25 meters while in the proposed layout is 26.75 meters. This proves that the travel distance of the proposed layout is more minimum and qualifies as a proposed layout.
