Abstract
Hotel Shafira is a flat-shaped 10-story building with a width of 12 meters and a length of 72 meters. Such a building shape is very susceptible to horizontal irregularities. Horizontal irregularities in buildings greatly reduce building efficiency. The irregularities that occur in this building are caused by the relatively uneven mass of the building. This can be seen from the differences in the span of the building portal. Portals with short spans are collected at the back while portals with long spans are collected at the front of the building, leaving large cavities. This is proven by the analysis of the ETABS program which shows that the eccentricity of the center of strength and center of mass in the direction of the strong axis is 5 meters. In this research, the uneven load distribution was overcome by re-placing the shearwall using trial and error until a smaller eccentricity was obtained. After the shearwall was added and rearranged, the pushover analysis results showed a base shear force of 37.78 kN and a displacement of 157.74 mm. This value is still much smaller than the capacity of the building which can withstand basic shear forces of up to 98.10 kN and displacements of up to 400 mm so that the building can be categorized at the Immediate Occupancy performance level. The building's eccentricity was also reduced from the original 5 meters to 1.3 meters. Reducing eccentricity can reduce internal forces so that the need for reinforcement is reduced by up to 13.9%.
