Abstract

The poverty rate in Batu City continues to decline because many residents have switched professions from farmers to the tourism sector because farming does not provide welfare for farmers. This research to analyze household income, household welfare level, and factors affecting the household welfare of potato farmers in Sumberbrantas Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City. The sample determination method was Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling with a total of 67 respondents. Primary data collection by means of interviews assisted using questionnaires. The first objective was analyzed by calculating potato and non-potato farm income, off-farm income, and non-farm income. The second objective was analyzed by measuring the level of well-being using Sajogyo's theory. The third objective was analyzed using binary logit regression. The results shows that 1) the average total household income of potato farmers is very high as much as 71.64% with a contribution of potato farming income of 50.01%. 2) As many as 79.1% of potato farmers are already prosperous. 3) Partially, the household size and household income affect the welfare level of potato farmer households.
