Abstract

ABSTRACT Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has a significant impact on a country's exports through several related dimensions. Foreign companies investing in a country tend to utilize local resources for producing goods and services that can be exported back to the global market or the investing company's home country. This creates a close relationship between the host country and the countries involved in the investment. FDI also facilitates global market access for local products, as foreign companies often possess extensive distribution networks and international market knowledge, thereby enhancing exports of the country's products internationally. This study aims to analyze the causal relationship between Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and exports in Indonesia from 2013 to 2022. The research employs a quantitative descriptive approach analyzed using Granger causality analysis. The findings indicate that statistically, there is no direct causal relationship between FDI and exports. However, these variables are interrelated and mutually reinforcing in the short term. Keywords: FDI, Exports, Economic Growth, Granger Causality
