Abstract

Food self-sufficiency is a concrete and precise way to fulfill food needs independently. One effort towards food self-sufficiency can be achieved through hydroponic farming. The choice of hydroponic farming is made due to several advantages it offers, such as requiring less land, being more practical in terms of cultivation, and other superiorities. In hydroponic agriculture, a nutrient solution serves as the source of plant nutrients that need to be regularly monitored and controlled to maintain optimal plant nutrition conditions. The Internet of Things (IoT) emerges as a technological innovation that can enhance monitoring and control of nutrient solutions more effectively and efficiently. Therefore, the author conducted research on a system for monitoring and controlling hydroponic nutrient solutions based on IoT, integrating Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Logic (IT2FL) to support automatic pH and TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) control. Additionally, the system is integrated with Telegram to support remote and real-time manual control. RAD (Rapid Application Development) was chosen as the development approach for this research. As a result, the system achieves monitoring accuracy of 97.03% for pH and 97.82% for TDS, and is capable of both manual control via Telegram bot and automatic control using Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Logic.
