Abstract
This study aims to understand nationalism among teenage gamers in Surabaya in the context of the video game Far Cry 3. Using qualitative research methods and the phenomenological approach by Edgar and Sedgwick, this study explores how teenage gamers internalize the concept of nationalism through their gaming experiences. Data were collected through purposive sampling, selecting participants who have a deep engagement with the game. The results show that Far Cry 3 plays a significant role in shaping teenagers' views on nationalism. These findings indicate that new media, such as video games, are capable of forming national identity among teenagers. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of integrating civic education relevant to the digital lives of teenagers.
