Abstract
The very rapid progress of information technology provides positive benefits for organizations in improving business processes and competitiveness. Strategic planning for information systems and technology (IS/IT) is very important in adjusting business and IS/IT strategies to achieve organizational goals. SMAN 1 Balongpanggang, as an educational institution that has only been operating for several years, requires IS/IT strategic planning to improve the quality of school services. This research aims to analyze and plan IS/IT strategies at SMAN 1 Balongpanggang using the Ward and Peppard method. This method includes analysis of the internal and external business environment, SWOT analysis, value chain, Critical Success Factor, PEST, and McFarlan Strategic Grid. The results of this research are a portfolio of applications proposed for the future and the development of a new application system that supports SMAN 1 Balongpanggang's business processes in improving the quality of school services.
