Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out the drug prevention strategies carried out by BNN Surabaya City in preventing drug abuse. Drug abuse is a threat in every region because it can threaten the young generation due to drug use. This study uses the theory of drug prevention strategies carried out by BNN Surabaya City through three indicators from Donald MacPherson, namely primary prevention, secondary prevention and tertiary prevention. This study uses a qualitative descriptive type. The technique of determining informants uses purposive sampling and snowball sampling. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are in accordance with those developed by Miles and Huberman which include data collection, data condensation, data presentation, conclusion drawing and verification. Data validity techniques use credibility tests. The results of the study show that the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Surabaya City has made various efforts to prevent drug abuse. Primary prevention carried out by BNN Surabaya City is by conducting faceto-face socialization at schools/universities in Surabaya and non-face-to-face by utilizing print media or social media, as well as forming a drug-free village. Secondary prevention carried out by BNN Surabaya City by conducting outpatient activities with counseling methods and counseling for early-stage drug users. And tertiary prevention carried out by BNN Surabaya City makes referrals for drug addicts to be hospitalized in hospitals or institutions that work the same as BNN Surabaya City. As well as carrying out post rehabilitation after hospitalization by supervising and developing interests and talents. Keywords: Prevention, Narkoba, Strategy
