Abstract
Marginalized children in Indonesia face various serious risks that threaten their well-being and future. The main risks they face include family economic instability, uncertainty in accessing quality education, and inadequate healthcare facilities. The purpose of the in-depth analysis in this study is to describe the role of the Arek Lintang Foundation in empowering marginalized children in Surabaya City. The research focuses on the theory of the Community Worker role indicators, utilizing a qualitative method with descriptive research type. The research subjects are social workers from the Arek Lintang Foundation in Surabaya, with data sources including informants, documents, and field notes. This study employs purposive sampling techniques, with data collection methods including observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the field findings, it can be concluded that Empowerment of Marginalized Children through the Role of the Arek Lintang Foundation in Surabaya City is significant. Looking at the facilitative role indicators, the Arek Lintang Foundation in Surabaya can be considered optimal overall as all sub-indicators are fulfilled. Regarding the educational role indicators, it has been functioning well and optimally. Similarly, the representative role indicators can be considered optimal overall. The technical role indicators are also deemed optimal.
