Abstract

Bauxite is one of Indonesia's non-renewable natural resources. Bauxite is a rock and is the raw material for alumina and aluminum which is then processed into items that can be found every day. In an effort to improve the country's economy, the Indonesian Government exports bauxite to other countries. However, because the value of bauxite is lower than aluminum, the Indonesian government has adopted a downstream processing strategy, namely processing bauxite from upstream to downstream, so that the value of bauxite exports increases. The Indonesian government started the bauxite downstream process by banning bauxite exports which was legalized in June 2023. This research analyzes the Indonesian Government's strategy in increasing the value of bauxite exports through upstream to downstream processes in Indonesia in 2020-2023. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, with secondary data collection, through booklets, journals, books, websites, etc. By using an export-oriented, upstream and downstream theoretical framework.
