Abstract
Housing is one of the main needs of every individual, but there are times when non-permanent housing is needed in various conditions, one of which is boarding houses, which are still popular today, especially among students. Boarding houses are an important need for migrants, students, workers, and other individuals who need temporary accommodation in big cities in Indonesia, one of which is the city of Surabaya. Location, facilities, price, and security are criteria that are factors in selecting a boarding house, but security criteria are currently the main consideration considering the varying levels of crime and security risks in various regions. The increasing number of news stories about crime in Surabaya creates a dilemma, plus there is limited information regarding boarding houses. A decision support system was built to assist migrants in choosing a boarding house according to the desired criteria. This system applies the WP method to help present recommendations for preferences for each alternative boarding house with weight values for boarding house criteria such as price, distance, facilities, security, and cleanliness. From the 30 data points tested, it produces a vector V value of 0.0533 for the alternative boarding house for Mrs. Hasin, which is presented in the best boarding house selection system based on the level of security in East Surabaya. s one of the main needs of every individual, but there are times when non-permanent housing is needed in various conditions, one of which is boarding houses, which are still popular today, especially among students.
