Abstract
Kecombrang (Etlingera elatior) is a type of annual spice plant native to Indonesia which has many benefits. Demand for kecombrang flowers and fruit has increased, in line with more people becoming aware of their multipurpose benefits. However, this increase in demand has not been matched by the productivity of flowers and fruit. According to Sihotang (2020), the period of growth and development of kecombrang plants until they flower and bear fruit takes 2 years. The relatively long development of kecombrang plants is an obstacle and challenge in cultivating kecombrangs, so cultivation technology to accelerate flowering and fruiting is very important, so technology is needed to induce flowering, one of which is through compound fertilization with a higher composition of P and K doses, as well as application frequency. right. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the combination of dosage and application frequency of PK Compound fertilizer. The research was carried out at Kecombrang Gardens, in Giripurno Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City, East Java from December 2023 to April 2024. The research was a factorial experiment using a Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors and repeated 3 times. The first factor is the dose of Compound PK fertilizer (D), which consists of 4 (levels), namely: 50, 100, 150 and 200 g per hill. The second factor is the frequency of application of Compound PK (F) fertilizer which consists of 3 levels, namely: 1.2 and 3x applications. Data were analyzed using ANOVA, if there was a significant effect, it was continued with BNJ 5%. The results of the research showed that the combination of treatment with a PK Compound fertilizer dose of 200 g and a fertilizer application frequency of 2x (D4F2) had a very significant effect on the time of flower appearance, the number of flowers per cluster, the weight of the harvested flowers per cluster and the weight of the dried flowers per cluster. The treatment with a compound PK fertilizer dose of 150 g/clump (D3) produced the best growth and flowering and was significantly different from other compound PK fertilizer dosage treatments, while the 2x application frequency of fertilizer produced the best growth and flowering and was significantly different from other application frequency treatments.
