Abstract

A child who is involved in legal problems is referred to as a child conflict with the law, in accordance with Republic of Indonesia Law No. 11 of 2012 on the Juvenile Criminal Justice System. Someone who commits a criminal act and he was sentenced to a criminal sentence based on the judge's decision, then repeated it committing a crime is recidivism. This research aims to understand the reasons behind cases of repeat crimes involving children from a legal criminology perspective as well as ways to minimize repetition criminal acts committed by children. Research methods used is empirical research with descriptive analysis, using a legal sociological approach that focuses on real data obtained from the Technical Implementation Unit for Community Social Rehabilitation Services Correctional Services (UPT PRSMP) Marsudi Putra Surabaya. Research findings shows that factors such as family, social environment, and conditions Economics plays a role in child recidivism cases. Apart from that, UPT PRSMP Marsudi Putra Surabaya is also active in coaching activities as an effort to dealing with cases of child recidivism.
