Abstract

The design of an industrial salt plant using a vacuum pan crystallizer from local salt is expected to meet the industrial salt needs in Indonesia and increase export quantities abroad. The success of the plant pre-design is not only measured by the modernity of its processes and equipment but also by the quality of the product, ensuring feasibility in terms of raw materials, technical aspects, economics, management, and marketing, as well as legal compliance. The industrial salt plant using a vacuum pan crystallizer from local salt is expected to produce at a capacity of 120,000 tons per year. The plant will be built in Sumenep, Madura, East Java. It is planned to operate continuously for 24 hours a day for 330 days a year, using raw materials such as local salt, Na2CO3, NaOH, and BaCl2. The industrial salt product is useful for other industries, such as the food and health industries. The plant is planned to be operated with a workforce of 179 employees.
