Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic has encouraged global initiatives in dealing with the pandemic, such as the United States has done by providing foreign assistance in the health sector for Indonesia. All forms of United States activities in the international world are aimed at the country's national interests. This research uses the theory of national interests and motives for foreign aid written by Alan Rix (2010) as a theoretical basis. The research method used is a qualitative method with an explanatory approach which will explain the causal relationship related to United States foreign aid and the motives behind it. The research results show that there are three motives behind United States foreign assistance to Indonesia in the health sector in the Covid-19 era, these motives are humanitarian motives, economic motives, and political/military motives. Keywords: foreign aid, humanitarian motives, economic motives, political motives
