Abstract

Tourism is one of the influential sectors in supporting economic improvement in Indonesia. From 2016 to 2022, there were fluctuations in the contribution value of the tourism sector before, during, and after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Kemenparekraf targets an increase in the contribution value in 2024 with a focus on developing cultural, natural and artificial attractions. According to 2021 visitor statistics, the most popular tourist attraction is nature tourism with visits reaching 42 million visitors. This shows that the development of natural tourism can be a solution to improve the economy of the tourism sector. One form of natural tourism development is by collaborating with the agricultural sector through the development of agro-tourism. Based on BPS data, Central Java is the province that has the most natural tourism. One area that has the potential for agritourism development is in Tawangmangu, Karanganyar Regency with natural wealth on the slopes of Mount Lawu and the development of horticultural agriculture. Agritourism development has a great impact on the natural environment. However, in 2017 TTCI noted that Indonesian tourism is still seen as not environmentally friendly and has not implemented nature conservation. Therefore, agritourism development will be designed to increase nature conservation efforts by not exploiting the environment. The solution used is to apply a green architecture approach to create an environment-based design. The principles that will be applied are based on 6 categories of GREENSHIP New Building from GBCI, namely appropriate land use, energy conservation, water conservation, material cycle, air quality, and building environment management. Through the design of an agriculture park with a green architecture approach in Tawangmangu, it is expected to encourage the economy of the Central Java tourism sector, increase the interest of the younger generation in agriculture, and minimize natural damage.
