Abstract

Long beans are a horticultural commodity that grows and is widely used by Indonesian people as a vegetable consumed daily because of its high nutritional value. However, long bean production in Indonesia is still low compared to other countries. This research aims to determine the effect of paclobutrazol concentration and NPK fertilizer dosage on the growth and yield of long bean plants. The research was conducted in Dander Village, Dander District, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java, from December 2023 to March 2024. The research design used a Divided Plot Design (RPT) with the main plot being the concentration of paclobutrazol and the sub plot being the dose of NPK fertilizer which was repeated 3 times. The research results showed that the combination treatment with a paclobutazol concentration of 175 ppm and an NPK fertilizer dose of 18 g/plant gave the best results on the parameters of pod length, pod diameter, pod weight and number of seeds. A paclobutrazol concentration of 150 ppm gave the best results on the parameters of plant length 28 DAP-77 DAP, number of leaves 28 DAP-77 DAP, age at flower emergence, number of flowers, number of pods planted in the 2nd to 4th week, total number of pods planted, pod weight per planting week 2 and 3, total pod weight per planting, pod weight per plot week 2 and week 5, total pod weight per plot, pod weight per hectare (44.16), pod storage capacity and fruit sets. NPK fertilizer dose of 18 g/plant gave the best results on plant length parameters of 42 DAP-63 DAP, number of leaves 21 DAP, 35 DAP, 42 DAP and pod weight per plot in the 1st week.
