Abstract

South Sudan is the youngest independent country. Despite its independence, conflicts continue to occur and cause violence against women and girls who are the most victimized. In addition to being victims of violence, women are also not recognized for their presence during the peace process. The UN Security Council through the Women, Peace and Security agenda adopted Resolution 1325 which emphasizes 4 pillars namely participation, protection, prevention, and relief and recovery. The WPS is an international normative framework that addresses genderspecific impacts on women and girls. The adoption is motivated by international condemnation of gender equality or a gender-blind society towards ongoing conflicts. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the role of South Sudanese women after the conflict as the implementation of WPS 2013-2023. The author will use a descriptive method and use two theories, namely conflict resolution and the Women, Peace and Security agenda. This research explains that the analysis of the role of South Sudanese women will be grouped according to the four pillars of the WPS. Keywords: WPS Agenda, Resolution 1325, South Sudan
