Abstract
The development of industry and technology also encourages Higher Education To produce quality human resources, personality independent and have good intellectual abilities. Engineering study program Chemistry University of National Development "Veteran" East Java as an institution Education needs to equip students to answer the challenges of the world of work one of them is through Field Work Practices (PKL). Field Work Practice is a means of self-actualizing some expertise or skills, both soft skills and hard skills that have been obtained during lectures to be applied in a company or agency. In order to improve the quality of students of the Chemical Engineering study program at the National Development University "Veteran" East Java, it is not enough to be equipped with Science and Technology alone, but students need to be equipped with experience in the real world of work. An understanding of the problems in the industrial world is expected to support the theoretical knowledge gained from lecture material, so that students can become one of the human resources who are ready to compete to face challenges in the era of globalization. For this reason, the author chose PG. TJOEKIR as a place to channel talents and interests while training skills in the world of work that are in line with the Chemical Engineering study program. This Field Work Practice aims to add insight into the application of Chemical Engineering in the oil and gas industry and to gain experience in a work environment in order to get the opportunity to practice handling problems in the factory.
