Abstract
Tight competition in the world of work in Indonesia is required to obtain superior, creative human resources, and can compete in the world of work, both nationally and internationally. Therefore, it is necessary to have trainings that can improve the quality of human resources to face global competition. In addition to being faced with the era of free trade or the Asian Economic Community (AEC), currently also being faced with the Covid-19 pandemic. Not only the health, food and service sectors, automotive is also one of the business sectors that are affected and must be able to maintain their existence in the midst of a pandemic. With the pandemic, the automotive world is experiencing a very heavy blow and pressure. The number of layoffs (PHK) carried out by several companies has reduced the constructive behavior of the Indonesian people. For this reason, several companies are trying to maintain public trust by improving the performance of their employees. This of course must be supported by good leadership. Because a good leader will be able to build a strategy and direct his subordinates to work optimally so that it has a direct impact on achieving targets. In addition, the provision of compensation such as incentives, bonuses and appropriate benefits to employees is also an important factor in improving employee performance. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of leadership style and compensation on employee performance. Using the census sampling method resulted in a total sample of 45 respondents. The data analysis technique used is Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of this study indicate that leadership style and compensation have a positive and significant effect on employee performance.
