Abstract

Cases of imbalances in nutritional consumption among children and adolescents in their infancy, which impacted on adulthood and the elderly are still widely found. The causative factor is generally due to lack of knowledge about the type of food that can meet the nutrition of each meal. Food in the form of conventional types of vegetables is already widely known, and that there are alternatives known as indigenous vegetables are still rarely known. It is unfortunate, especially considering the geographical condition of Indonesia supports the potential for food diversification. Education related to nutritional content is one of the important factors that build a healthy lifestyle. By knowing the nutritional regulation that the body needs every day, the body can maintain its optimal metabolism. Especially in a pandemic situation where immunity is quite vulnerable, people are looking for various ways to maintain health. The content of information and illustrations packaged in the illustration book will discuss the role of nutrition as a body building element, the various types of nutritional content recommended for daily meals, examples of foodstuffs and alternatives containing related types of nutrients, and the recommended processing methods for some of these alternative foods. The methods used are quantitative and qualitative descriptive, with data sources collected through respondents within the range of segmentation targets, as well as through indepth interviews about nutrition that affects health. The study of scientific literature related to nutritional content and alternative foodstuffs is also carried out to deepen information for the creation of illustration books. Therefore, this report will discuss the creation of an illustrated book on the fulfillment of nutrition through alternative foodstuffs aimed for the productive age as an educational medium for diversifying alternative foodstuffs in Indonesia, especially for people in the age range of 18 to 26 years to anticipate the phenomenon of people in the productive age range who do not recognize the variety of alternative food types as a source of nutrition that has been encountered daily, even though you already know the benefits and importance of nutrition.
