Abstract

Advancements in financial technology have driven the adoption of fintech payment services as a transaction alternative for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The use of fintech payment services is not merely a matter of technological convenience; it also depends on MSME operators' understanding of digital financial services and their engagement with the financial system. This study aims to analyze the impact of digital financial literacy and perceived ease of use on the adoption of fintech payment services, as well as to examine the mediating role of financial inclusion among MSME operators in Surabaya. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing primary data collected via questionnaires from 117 MSME operators in Surabaya, selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with SmartPLS software. The results indicate that digital financial literacy plays a role in enhancing both financial inclusion and the adoption of fintech payment services. Meanwhile, perceived ease of use contributes to increased financial inclusion but does not directly drive the adoption of fintech payment services. Financial inclusion plays a role in increasing the adoption of fintech payment services and acts as a link connecting digital financial literacy and perceived ease of use to fintech payment adoption. These findings demonstrate that an understanding of digital financial services and engagement with financial services are crucial factors in fostering the adoption of fintech payment services among MSME operators in Surabaya. Keywords: Digital Financial Literacy, Perceived Ease of Use, Financial Inclusion, Fintech Payment, MSMEs.
