Abstract
The internship was conducted at the Quality Control (QC) Department of PT Kerta Rajasa Raya, focusing on the quality control of Adstar cement sacks. The study addressed the issue of various types of defects persisting in the product during the production process. The objectives were to identify the dominant defect types, analyze the production process's quality control conditions, and determine the factors causing product non-conformities. The methods employed were Statistical Quality Control (SQC) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). SQC data processing utilized check sheets, histograms, Pareto diagrams, as well as P-charts and C-charts. Subsequently, RCA was used to identify the root causes of defects via fishbone diagrams. Data analysis covering the period from January to June 2025 revealed a total of 32,025 defects; the most dominant type was "keperet" (incomplete sealing/adhesion), accounting for 13,946 units (43.55%), followed by folded patches (11.98%) and skewed triangles (11.38%). P-chart and C-chart results indicated that the production process was statistically in control, as all data points fell within the control limits. Nevertheless, variations in defect counts persisted, necessitating continuous quality monitoring and control. The RCA results showed that the defects were influenced by factors related to manpower, machinery, materials, methods, and the work environment. Keywords: Quality Control, Statistical Quality Control, Root Cause Analysis, Defect, Adstar Cement Sack.
