Abstract

The practice of arranging choral sheet music has grown rapidly; however, it frequently raises issues concerning copyright protection. This study aims to analyze the legal regulation of choral sheet music arrangements and the legal protection afforded to songwriters under Law Number 28 of 2014 on Copyright. The research employs a normative juridical method using statutory and conceptual approaches. The findings indicate that the commercialization of musical arrangements without authorization from the original songwriter or copyright holder may constitute a violation of both economic rights and moral rights. Legal protection is provided through preventive and repressive measures to ensure legal certainty and respect for the rights of creators.
