Abstract

Silica is an essential raw material for various industries, including the glass, ceramic, pharmaceutical, food, and rubber industries. The demand for precipitated silica in Indonesia continues to increase; however, it is still largely fulfilled through imports. Therefore, a precipitated silica plant with a production capacity of 60,000 tons/year is proposed to be established in JIIPE Manyar, Gresik, using bagasse, sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄), and hydrochloric acid (HCl) as the main raw materials. The plant is designed to operate 330 days per year on a 24-hour continuous basis. It will be established as a Limited Liability Company (Perseroan Terbatas/PT), adopt a line-and-staff organizational structure, and employ 247 personnel. The economic analysis indicates a Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) of IDR 1.779 trillion, a Total Capital Investment (TCI) of IDR 3.073 trillion, an after-tax Return on Investment (ROI) of 19.84%, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 18.025%, a Payback Period (PBP) of 2 years and 7 months, and a Break-Even Point (BEP) of 32.84%.
