Abstract
To maintain trust in the waqf process, waqf donors, trustees, and waqf administrators must communicate effectively and maintain transparency in waqf management. However, the results of a user needs assessment for the Jaryya service revealed several issues, such as the lack of an integrated digital platform to support waqf consultation services, the lack of continuously updated information on waqf developments, and limited documentation demonstrating the actual utilization of waqf assets. As a result of these conditions, wakifs face difficulties in tracking the progress of their waqfs and obtaining the information needed to build trust in waqf administrators. Therefore, this study aims to design the UI/UX of the mobile-based Jaryya App as a digital waqf consultation platform that makes it easier for users to monitor waqf progress, access information, and seek waqf consultations. The method used is Design Thinking, which consists of five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The “empathize” phase was conducted through interviews with Jaryya employees, wakifs, and nazhirs, as well as observations to identify user needs and problems. The findings were analyzed during the “define” phase, followed by solution development during the “ideate” phase, design and prototyping during the “prototype” phase, and evaluation during the “test” phase. The design was created using Figma and evaluated through usability testing using Maze and the User Experience Questionnaire Short (UEQ-S). The results of the initial usability test showed task success rates of 90% for Jaryya employees, 85% for wakifs, and 85% for nazhirs. Although the system met the usability test success criteria, several issues with navigation and the interface were identified, as indicated by low direct success rates and misclicks on some tasks. Therefore, before the second round of usability testing began, design iterations were conducted based on user feedback and the results of the first usability test. Following these improvements, the results of the second round of usability testing showed task success rates of 95% for Jaryya Staff, 92.5% for Wakif, and 95% for Nazhir, while the UEQ-S results yielded an overall score of 1.30, which falls into the “Above Average” category. The research results indicate that the Jaryya app’s UI/UX design effectively meets users’ needs regarding access to information, transparency of waqf progress, and a pleasant user experience.
