Abstract

The Certified Internship and Independent Study Program (MSIB) is one of the Merdeka Campus initiatives designed to provide university students with opportunities to learn and develop professional skills through direct workplace experience, which is recognized as part of their academic studies. During the internship at PT Ruang Raya Indonesia (Ruangguru), the project focused on developing the Smart Home Energy Management System website, which was designed to help users manage household energy consumption efficiently through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and web-based data analysis. The website development process involved several stages, including frontend development using ReactJS and backend implementation using Golang. RESTful API technology was implemented to ensure efficient communication between the frontend and backend. In addition, middleware was utilized for data validation and authentication, enhancing the system's performance and security. AI models such as tapas-base-finetuned-wtq were employed for table data analysis, while microsoft/Phi-3.5-mini-instruct was integrated to provide Natural Language Processing (NLP)-based consultation, enabling the system to deliver relevant and interactive recommendations to users. The website was designed to process household energy consumption data, generate personalized recommendations to improve energy efficiency, and increase users' awareness of sustainable energy practices. Furthermore, the project offers a modern solution with future development potential, including the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) devices for real-time data collection and expansion into mobile applications. Through this program, students not only gained practical experience in AI- and web-based technology development but also contributed to the creation of innovative solutions in the field of sustainable energy management.
