Abstract
This study aims to analyze the socio-economic sustainability of Kampoeng Lawas Maspati Tourist Attraction based on the Regulation of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Number 9 of 2021 concerning Sustainable Tourism Guidelines. Kampoeng Lawas Maspati is a community-based tourism area in Surabaya that develops historical, cultural, and local community potentials as tourist attractions. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, observations, and documentation involving tourism managers, local communities, business actors, and related stakeholders. The results show that tourism development in Kampoeng Lawas Maspati has positively impacted the local economy through the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the creation of employment opportunities, and increased community participation in tourism activities. In addition, tourism activities have supported cultural preservation and increased public awareness of environmental sustainability. However, this study also found several challenges, such as limited human resource capacity and the unequal distribution of economic benefits. Therefore, strengthening community empowerment and improving tourism management quality are necessary to achieve optimal socio-economic sustainability.
