Abstract

The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in Magetan Regency remains a major employment issue, reflecting suboptimal labor absorption. This study aims to analyze the influence of small-scale industries, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) per capita, and education level on the Open Unemployment Rate in Magetan Regency during the 2015-2024 period. This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The research sample consists of annual time series data covering the variables of small-scale industries, GRDP per capita, average years of schooling (RLS), and TPT. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression. The results show that small-scale industries have a negative and significant effect on TPT, GRDP per capita has a negative but insignificant effect on TPT, while education level has a positive and significant effect on TPT. Simultaneously, these three variables have a significant effect on TPT. Thus, the development of small-scale industries contributes to reducing the unemployment rate, while the increase in GRDP per capita has not been able to significantly reduce unemployment, and the increase in education level has not been fully followed by optimal labor absorption.
