Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in tourism management at Peneleh Heritage Village, Surabaya, focusing on role norms, role implementation, and role functions. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results show that Pokdarwis plays a role in tourism management through the implementation of walking tours, outing classes, tourism promotion activities, and the GUSI (Clean Sunday) program. Pokdarwis also involves the local community in tourism activities, raises awareness of the area's tourism potential, and supports the development of local products. Promotional efforts are carried out through social media, influencer involvement, and participation in various tourism promotion events. However, tourism management still faces several challenges, including limited human resources and suboptimal community participation. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that Pokdarwis plays an important role in supporting tourism management in Peneleh Heritage Village, Surabaya, through tourism activities, promotion, environmental maintenance, and community involvement.
