Abstract

The Telaga Ngebel Natural Tourism Area is one the leading tourism attractions in Ponorogo Regency that is vulnerable to natural disaster, such as landslides, falling trees, and extreme weather conditions. These conditions require adequate crisis management preparedness to minimize disaster risks and ensure visitor safety. This study aims to analyze the readiness of natural disaster crisis management in the Telaga Ngebel Natural Tourism Attraction, Ponorogo Regency. This study employed a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation involving informants selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the readiness of natural disaster crisis management in the Telaga Ngebel Natural Tourism Attraction has not yet been optimal. During the pre-crisis stage, several limitations were identified, including the absence of a disaster risk map, an early warning system, and disaster mitigation socialization for visitors. During the crisis stage, the management demonstrated a relatively good response through initial assessments and coordination with relevant agencies, although evacuation information and supporting facilities remained limited. In the post-crisis stage, efforts were made to restore damaged facilities and evaluate disaster incidents; however, mitigation measures and preparedness still require further improvement. The study also revealed a gap between the ideal concept of crisis management and its actual implementation, particularly in terms of mitigation, disaster education, risk communication, and evacuation facilities.
