Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and empirically prove the effect of profitability, liquidity, leverage, and sales growth on financial distress in primary consumer goods companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2021-2024. The method used in this study is quantitative research. This research is an explanatory study. The data used are secondary data from the company's annual report. Through a purposive sampling technique, a total of 8 primary consumer goods companies were obtained as samples for this study, resulting in 32 observations used in the analysis process. Furthermore, this study used the Eviews 13 panel data regression test technique. The results indicate that profitability has an effect on financial distress, liquidity has an effect on financial distress, leverage has no effect on financial distress, and sales growth has no effect on financial distress.
