Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of workload and career development on employee job satisfaction at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operation Region VIII Gubeng Office Surabaya. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The research population consists of employees of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operation Region VIII Gubeng Office Surabaya, with a sample of 87 respondents determined using a saturated sampling method. This study uses the Partial Least Square (PLS) application as an analysis tool. The results show that workload has a negative and significant effect on employee job satisfaction. Career development has a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction. This study suggests that companies manage workload more proportionally and improve transparency and fairness in career development to boost employee job satisfaction.
