Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, human resource quality, and the use of digital payment on business sustainability in supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 8 and 9 among food and beverage MSMEs in Surabaya City. This research is motivated by the importance of business sustainability for MSMEs in coping with increasing competition and rapid changes in the digital era. Business sustainability is presumed to be influenced by financial literacy, human resource quality, and the adoption of digital payment as a form of technological utilization in business operations. This study employed a quantitative research approach using primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to owners of food and beverage MSMEs in Surabaya City. The sampling technique used was convenience sampling, resulting in 160 MSMEs as respondents. Hypothesis testing was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The results indicate that financial literacy has a significant positive effect on business sustainability. This finding suggests that higher levels of financial literacy enable MSME owners to manage their finances more effectively and make better business decisions. Human resource quality also has a significant positive effect on business sustainability, indicating that the competence, experience, and adaptability of MSME owners play an important role in maintaining business sustainability. Meanwhile, the use of digital payment has no significant effect on business sustainability because its utilization remains limited and has not yet provided a substantial impact on MSMEs. Collectively, these three variables explain 80.6% of the variance in the business sustainability of food and beverage MSMEs in Surabaya City.
