Abstract
One of the functions of information technology is to modernize administrative and law enforcement systems. Tandes Police Station, a unit under the Surabaya City Resort Police (Polrestabes Surabaya), is a sub-district level Indonesian National Police (Polri) institution operating in the West Surabaya region. One of the primary duties of this police unit is administering traffic citations (tilang). However, in practice, Tandes Police Station still utilizes manual methods to manage and recapitulate traffic citation data. This manual system possesses fundamental weaknesses, including a high vulnerability to data loss caused by document damage and data redundancy. Furthermore, the use of physical register books as the primary medium for recording citations requires extensive storage space and is prone to deterioration. To address these issues, a web-based traffic citation recapitulation system is proposed, which is expected to assist the performance of officers in the administrative affairs unit of Tandes Police Station. System testing results indicate that the developed application performs effectively and functions as expected. Through the design and implementation of this web-based recapitulation system at Tandes Police Station, the institution can archive citation records more securely, streamline and accelerate the recording process, and minimize human error.
