Abstract
Open unemployment remains one of the employment problems in Banten Province. During the 2020–2024 period, Banten Province was recorded as one of the regions with the highest open unemployment rate in Indonesia, especially in 2023. This condition is influenced by various economic and social factors, such as Minimum Wage, Human Development Index (HDI), and Population Growth. This study aims to analyze the effect of Minimum Wage, HDI, and Population Growth on the Open Unemployment Rate in Banten Province. The study uses secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and applies multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that Minimum Wage has no significant effect on the Open Unemployment Rate. Meanwhile, HDI and Population Growth have a negative and significant effect on the Open Unemployment Rate. This indicates that improving the quality of human resources and the ability of the economic sector to absorb labor can reduce the open unemployment rate in Banten Province. Therefore, policies that support the improvement of human resource quality, expansion of employment opportunities, and sustainable investment are needed. Keywords: Minimum Wage, Human Development Index, Population Growth, Open Unemployment Rate.
