Abstract
The preservation of local Nias culture faces challenges such as a lack of educational media, limited participatory spaces, and a need for dedicated cultural activity venues; thus, a new approach relevant to the digital era is required. The design of the Ono Niha Living Culture Gallery as an Experiential Learning Space in Gunungsitoli City aims to provide a cultural preservation hub that functions not merely as an exhibition space, but as a "living" space that encourages direct experience, interaction, and cultural regeneration. This gallery is designed to showcase Nias’ tangible and intangible cultural heritage through the concept of experiential learning, supported by interactive technology as a medium for education. A contextual architectural approach is employed to facilitate experiential learning, utilizing a hybrid method that integrates Nias architectural principles with modern architecture to meet functional requirements while preserving local identity. The design scope focuses on architectural aspects. Through this design, the Ono Niha Living Culture Gallery is expected to strengthen cultural preservation efforts, enhance tourism appeal, and generate social and economic impacts through the active involvement of the local community in cultural and gallery activities. Keywords: Contextual Architecture, Experiential Learning, Cultural Gallery, Nias Living Culture
