Abstract
Advances in digital technology in the healthcare sector have driven an increase in the use of fitness apps to support physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. However, not all users demonstrate a commitment to continuing to use these apps, making it important to understand the factors that influence future use intention. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing future use intention based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) model, modified by adding perceived performance, perceived playfulness, and health consciousness, as well as to test the moderating roles of age and gender among fitness app users in Surabaya. The study employed a quantitative method using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach on 414 respondents selected via purposive sampling. The results showed that of the total 18 hypotheses tested, 4 were accepted and 14 were rejected. Price value, habit, and health consciousness had a positive and significant effect on future use intention, while perceived performance, social influence, and perceived playfulness had no significant effect. Gender moderated the relationship between social influence and future use intention, while age did not moderate the relationships between variables in the model.
